My students need 2 Samsung Galaxy tablets and cases to protect them,
This project expired on December 22, 2015.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Kids today are entering a world where Financial Literacy is more essential than ever! I'd love to combine their love of technology (Samsung Galaxy Tablets) and fun in order to learn how to become financially savvy!
My students are all English Language Learners who attend a high poverty public school, where 70% of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.
Many of them come from single family homes. Some are separated from a parent or parents who are still in their home country. They have many needs and face many challenges. Yet I have provided them with a warm environment where they can feel free to take risks. Because of this, they love coming to school and work hard for me.
My students need 2 Samsung Galaxy tablets to use in our Financial Literacy learning centers. With the tablets we can download apps such as Financial Football, Road Trip to Savings, and Funny Money. In Financial Football my students will have to answer finance questions in order to advance down the field and score a touchdown! With Road Trip they will learn how to make decisions regarding income, expenses and savings. Finally with Funny Money they will learn how budget and spend money rationally. The cases will protect the tablets from those possible "oops" moments! My students will learn how to become financially savvy while having fun! Its a win-win situation!
Through the use of technology my students will learn about real world finances.
What a fun way to learn about allowances, jobs, and budgeting! Help us become financially literate!
