I service students with special need’s. These students struggle with reading, math and lack in social/life skills. When everything shut down in the spring of 2020 my students missed so much instruction time plus not having interaction with the community in general to help build social skills. The pandemic contributed to loss of instruction time in students who were already struggling causing them to struggle more. Time is precious for these young students in their need for increased support.
I’m asking for funds for hands on learning activities. The items I have chosen, center around the goals my students have. These activities will enhance those goals. The pandemic may have interrupted the growth but the learning is continuing and these items will help enhance their goals. As my students gain confidence in their learning it is expected they will improve their social skills. My students missed out on community activities which effected their social skills tremendously. These items will help in furthering the learning regardless of the pandemic interruption.
