I teach a multi-grade class of fourth and fifth graders.
My classroom is filled with motivated learners who enjoy academic challenges and are always wanting to learn more.
I often teach my students in small groups, which leaves the rest of the class working independently or with a partner. I have created tasks and activities that will test my students' knowledge and understanding and keep them interested and motivated. Our school is in the suburbs of Utah. Our parents are very supportive and expect high quality teaching and learning. Most of the students have access to technology at home and are enthusiastic to use technology in the classroom. The students often are more comfortable than I am and are not intimidated to try new things. I feel it is my responsibility to provide opportunities to use technology in my 21st century classroom.
My Project
Technology is woven into just about every aspect of our lives. It is how we work, play, learn, communicate, shop, share information, and so on. So the importance of integrating technology in the classroom just makes sense. Technology in the classroom is changing the experience of education. It is changing the way children learn, educators teach and how teachers and students communicate with one another.
Having technology like iPads in the classroom can provide opportunities for students to be able to work and excel at their own level and pace.
Today’s schools have the opportunity to integrate mobile devices like the iPad in the classroom to open up a whole new world of engagement, personalized learning, and collaboration in the classroom.
