My Students

My class is made up of 15 unique children ages 3 and 4 who come from diverse backgrounds. The community in which the students live is a low-income city and as a result, many parents work multiple jobs. Therefore half of my class spends close to ten hours a day in school.

The school, that the children attend, follows the New Jersey Department of Education approved Creative Curriculum model along with the New Jersey Preschool Standards which encourages learning activities that stimulate critical thinking and self-discoveries.

Each morning my students enter the classroom with awe and excitement at what the day will bring for them and what new experiences they will get to explore.

My Project

As a three-year-old teacher, many of my students are petite and small. Our class is in need of a writing center that better fits them. This would make this center more welcoming for them to write and explore.

Our future writers of tomorrow are in need of a new writing center and chairs for them to write at.

This writing center that I choose is smaller and more convenient for them to fit comfortably while writing their names and letters.

Having a writer center in the classroom is a great resource area for the children to write with a friend. It will help build up their creativity and fine motor skills.
