Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a new Exceptional education teacher at Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina. I educate my students in English and mathematics. My students have "disabilities", which range from simple learning disabilities to emotionally handicapped. My class is in desperate need of supplies and reading books. They are not the most fortunate students, and may come to school without the needed supplies to complete work. I try my best to supply them with my own funds, but I can't no longer continue to do so. I am asking for pens, pencils, notebooks, notebook paper, betteries, and reading books of interest. My children suffer because they can't read like those students in a regular English class. Yet, they are willing to overcome their barriers of being exceptional. If the help can be rendered, it would be greatly appreciated.
