My students need lecterns and a gavel to practice in class effectively, and black 3-ring binders so that they can keep their research organized and have a professional appearance at tournaments.
My students are the absolute best of the best. They are excited, engaged learners who make my job so much fun! They came to me at the beginning of the year wanting to form a competitive Speech and Debate team.
So, with very little experience and whole lot of drive, these students have created something wonderful.
They are the most intelligent and driven group of people that I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and I would love to see their vision for their club come true!
My Project
Being an effective speaker is a life skill these students will carry with them through their entire lives. Not only is it a desired class on a college transcript, it is a skill that teaches them to have the confidence they need to make a positive impact in our world. If my students had more of the tools they desire to work towards making themselves better at debating and speech delivering, they would feel more like achieving their goal of growing their club could and will happen. Your donation will gift these students with lecterns to help them practice debating each other, a gavel, so they can run a mock congress, and binders to have them organize their work in a professional manner.
