My Students

My students are a rambunctious group of 5th graders with special needs. Each one of my students receives specialized instruction in order to help them succeed in their education. My students LOVE to stay busy and move! They enjoy learning through exploration and are always thinking of interesting questions to research. My students have special needs ranging from Autism Spectrum Disorder and Specific Learning Disabilities to Behavioral and Emotional Disabilities. Each student in my classroom has many strengths that help them overcome their disabilities and access the general curriculum. This class in particular works very hard to make growth and to learn new skills. They make me proud every day and would love your support!

My Project

My students are a group of rambunctious and inquisitive students. Even though their disabilities can cause hurdles, they never let it stop them. One way that these hurdles can be made lower is to provide hands on materials for my students to use during science. These materials will help them internalize and visualize difficult concepts such as cells, circuits, and La Nina and El Nino which have historically been the most difficult for my students to grasp. I have requested funding for specific items that will help me to demonstrate these concepts in a more concrete way.
