Help me give my students the math manipulatives and resources they need to improve their confidence in math!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I'm a Math Educator to a team of outgoing and energetic 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade non-traditional students. My scholars are unique like snowflakes; each of them are different and bring their own charismatic personalities into the classroom. With many having to experience things that most adults wouldn't be able to cope with. We use the class motto of "Think Like a Natural Number....Be Positive". So, my classroom is more than just an environment for learning, it is also considered a "Safe Space" for many of my students.
This family of amazing scholars displays natural leadership abilities with their willingness to assist each other when needed.
They all have their different way of learning and deserve the best for their efforts. With the limited resources when learning middle school math, they feel so defeated and discourage. So, I want to create a classroom where "Math is Fun" and change their defeat to "Triumph"! They are our future teachers, mathematicians, astronomers, architects, engineers, scientists, physicians, and lawyers. Please help me help them to discover the nature of math and understand that math is seriously in our everyday living!
Your support will truly help me build my students confidence. Due to the limited resources I have for middle school math, our current centers situation is not motivating to the students. The Math Sharks, Algebra Wrap-Ups, AngLegs, and other resources will all be used by the students to ensure they receive a more focus instructional model that is geared to their learning styles. My students are competitive much like myself. So, when it's time to play competitive math games like "Are You Smarter Than a 6, 7, or 8th Grader " or "Math Jeopardy" the new answer buzzer will be perfect for the occasion.
The donations for this project would greatly benefit my scholars with having a better understanding of middle school math in a fun, focused, and meaningful way!
To ensure my students have options when it comes to learning math, your support will help make the fun connection with math more interesting. The math resources will be used as guides where the students will begin the process of blossoming into true mathematicians. Your donations will be greatly appreciated and the resources will be kept in good condition!
