Future Leaders in A Tech Self-Directed Learning Environment
Help me give my students technology to aid in their journey of becoming well rounded learners. My students need digital access to resources that will support them in their learning environment.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students are inquisitive and enjoy learning. My schools is located in an urban neighborhood. Majority of my students lie in low income housing. Almost all of my children are African-American or Hispanic English language learners who have limited exposure to the English. Most of my students crave to engage in active learning. I have gained a strong interest in the activities that my students. Many of them are unable to fulfill task that bridge the home to school connections because of the work schedules of their parents. In addition to being hard workers, my students are very well mannered and appreciative. In my classroom, I aspire to cultivate an environment of excellence.
I want my students to understand that they are tomorrow's future.
To do this, I know that I must differentiate instruction to ensure engagement and student discourse. I want to expose all of my students to all aspects of the world by giving them educational access to resources that are normally limited. My students demonstrate daily that they are learners that are open to challenges. I want to continue to push them to think outside of the norm.
My Project
Each and every person has different needs to create a spark for knowledge. I want to be able to give my students options and meet every need during my lessons. I want each and every child to feel involved and understood. Learning should be a time of exploration. With iPads, I can ensure that my students will not only engaged in learning,but are also developing skills for their academic career. The use of technology will ensure that every student gets has the opportunity to learn from individually and collaboratively.
I would like the opportunity to support the needs of my students by exposing them to better opportunities to have a promising educational future.
I utilize technology daily in my classroom for instructional time. I also use music to help stimulate my students and create a comforting and calm environment. I know that having iPads will improve and reinforce the skills my students are learning by allowing more access. Using technology will help to incorporate calmness and security through self guided learning to motivate students from all learning styles.
