Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve a student body that is predominantly Hispanic and African American with a low economic background. My students are not afforded the same opportunities as many others which is why my theatre and broadcasts programs are much needed. They are learning key skills that will set them up for bright futures. Each day my students look forward to my class as we engage in technology. It is my goal to expose them to a world they never imagined possible.

My Project

I recently implemented a new broadcast curriculum to maximize my students learning and spark their interest. My classroom does not currently have desks due to lack of space. My journalists need the flexibility of folding tables to be used and removed as needed. My students are responsible for writing, editing, and publishing the daily news cast for the campus. I learned quickly that the most difficult part for my students is the writing. It is my goal to enhance their writing skills before they head into high school using a platform (technology) that interests them and they enjoy. These tables will assist in helping me do so!
