Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love being a teacher and a mommy! I was a good teacher before I had kids, but I am better teacher now that I have my own kids at home. I realize that: 1. Each of my students are someone's children and I would want my own children's teachers to give their best, each and everyday; both academically and emotionally. 2. I want my students to feel like their is hope for their future. That they truly can do anything with HARD-WORK. 3. I want to build my students confidence, allow them to use their imaginations and acquire both a strong academic foundation and good set of life skills that will help them succeed.

I want them to know that they are very important to me and that I believe in them.
As a public educator I have many grand ideas, but to fund those ideas can be daunting.
My Project
We are beginning our unit on community helpers. Learning about community helpers, their different jobs and how they impact our community. It is important to us that we allowing students to explore many different jobs and see if they have any interest in pursuing these careers for their futures.
For example, we will use the headphones to access different online resources that will assist in students self discovery.
The small figures and wooden blocks will allow students to interact with the different professions through play. The puppets and costumes will be used in the dramatic play center and allow students to act out the roles of community helpers. We plan to use the puzzles, owl pellets, magnets to build up our center time and create a more enriching environment for our TK students. Books will read during story time to introduce and reflect on different jobs.
