Mr. Harper from Sandy Springs GA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students these items so that they learn how to use industry standard equipment with camera options that the pros use. This will be helpful in teaching them terminology and proper camera settings.

The industry is booming. This is what all the experts say about the film industry in Atlanta. However, there is a huge problem amongst individuals who work in the industry. Deemed the new Hollywood Atlanta now has about 48 productions that live and create in the Metro and surrounding suburbs. The issue that we are running into is that most of the productions bring teams from Los Angeles to do the jobs because they deem the people in Atlanta are not experienced enough to work in the film industry. This is where teachers like me come in. In order to change the dynamic, we have to educate the future now. My students are engaged in film and broadcast. They are young and eager to learn all that they can about the film industry. Many of them come from poverty stricken homes and backgrounds. Our school being title 1 means that we lack the resources we need to be highly efficient. Connecting these student with the technology needed to be successful in the industry is imperative. They would love to touch some industry standard equipment so that they could be ready for their shot in the big time!
The help you will provide for my students will be tremendous. Even though 134 students will be using 1 camera, groups of them will use it to create awesome quality films. This tool will allow me to get them closer to being ready to work in the film industry. We will make films for the school, short films, commercials,PSA's and podcasts. With this tool, I can show the students how to properly set a camera up for any lighting situation. It is imperative for the students to learn this because they will be faced with critical thinking issues on set that involve the camera. Thank you for any consideration that you give this project.
