I work with three to four-year-old children in my classroom. These children come from low-income, single-family homes, whose parents have limited education. Most have not been exposed to or had experience with other children or developmentally appropriate learning materials. Children come into my classroom excited to learn new things and discovering how things work. I love seeing how excited they are to be exposed to these new experiences and strive to give them the best head start into education.
My Project
Working with preschoolers in a fun way to learn about math and engineering skills will help expose them to potential life long skills. Using the gear maze to help them learn to plan, build, follow instructions, and cause and effect in an exciting way!
Using road signs, and constructions signs in our building area will help them learn about traffic flow and what each sign represents.
This will transcend into real world experiences that they can talk about with their parents, encouraging communication in the family.
Using the sifting letter shells will help the children learn letters and building skills as they play in the sand. They will be able to work together in all areas with each other to help build social and communication skills.
