My Project

The students in my classroom are high school Early Childhood Education students who aspire to be educators after graduation. We are learning how to incorporate social-emotional themes and lessons into literacy activities for preschool children.

With these supplies, my students will plan literacy activities and read books to the children in our lab preschool which is a partnership with Head Start.

The high schoolers serve as volunteer teachers in the preschool classroom with 17 preschool children ages 3-5.

Helping my students learn the importance of social-emotional learning in the classroom is paying it forward to the next generation of students that they will teach when they graduate and become teachers. Most of my students have aspirations of being teachers, speech-language pathologists, behavior specialists, and many more jobs in the education field.
