I am the media specialist at our school and our students range from Pre-K to 6th grade. Our school is a Title I school where over 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many students live with relatives such as grandparents or aunts and uncles or are in the foster care system. Our classrooms provide a constant and stable environment for our students, which many do not have outside of school. They yearn for guidance, support, and love. Our students are eager and excited to learn! We want them to have the same opportunities that other children at more affluent schools are offered.
Help our students learn how to build, design and code all while using their imagination.
With these tools, our students will collaborate with each other and develop plans for building structures and learning a basic foundation of coding.
I want them to see the real-life foundations that can be learned by using these materials.
I want them to have the opportunity to interact with materials that will help them develop their critical thinking skills and working with hands-on materials. I want them to realize that design and coding can be incorporated in any subject, from math, to literature, to the arts. Let's get CREATIVE!
