Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a diverse group of students from various backgrounds. All of my students have a curious mind and dedication to their learning. But I also have students that come from various backgrounds. Several of my students are English learners or recently reclassified English learners . I also have students with learning disabilities and gifted students. Other students are english only speakers. Many of my students come from a low income household and don't have access to technology like tablets. While the others come from working class families.
I want to give all my students equal access online resources.
I want them to be better prepared for a future where technology and collaboration will be important. I don't want them to feel embarrassed for not having the technology skills needed. Although my students are different, what makes them all he same is their love for learning.
My Project
I am requesting four Galaxy tablets for my students so they can practice their programming and coding skills. With these tablets, my students will be more engaged, learn to collaborate, and will be better prepared for those in demand technology based careers.
Technology skills like programming are important in getting students prepared for a competitive technological world.
These tablets will be used in my everyday lessons and in all subjects. My main goal is to have students use these tablets to program Dash Wonder Workshop robots that were donated to our classroom. Students will work in small groups to program the robot to move in specific directions. Students can save their progress and codes in the Wonder App that will downloaded onto the tablet. Without the tablets, my students won't be able to use their Wonder Dash robot.
