My kindergarteners are energetic and inquisitive. They are passionate about learning, exploring, and playing games. They also love taking ownership of their learning as they are becoming the CEOs of their future.
My 16 little ones have their own unique needs when it comes to learning, and it is my goal to meet all those needs.
They would benefit from access to virtual programs that can be tailored to meet their individual needs while providing data on their learning progress. These independent students are longing for the tools to help them meet their passions while they monitor their learning. Tools that will help them become more confident and prideful of their work. The goal, after all, is to help them own their future.
Technology and teaching set a classroom apart. When used properly, students and teachers can work to meet individual student needs on a new platform: tablets. Data can be tracked instantly. Students will be motivated through play and individual goals. Teachers can monitor progress and share results with parents during conferences. The possibilities are endless, and a passion for learning is sparked. Assessments become games, review becomes a level to beat, practice become a desire, and centers become individualized. This is how we can help meet student a where they are. This is how we fight the learning curve. This is how we demonstrate taking ownership of learning, planning and charting goals; and this is how we show students learning is fun. With five kid friendly tablets, my students can have their own educational profiles ready to help them thrive!
