My students need blank books, craft foam, paint, crayons, shimmer shapes and 3D craft sculptures in order to make books and projects in our preschool classroom.
"My young students love to write and illustrate and they especially love to work in hardcover blank books ...we just need a few basic materials".
The children I teach are very curious and ready to invent.
We would love to write in hardcover blank books at center time using different types of art mediums. I am a pre-k teacher in a large, urban school. Our children are from relatively low income families and very often, it is difficult for their parents to purchase educational materials for their children. I am always seeking new ways to inspire students and give them opportunities to express themselves. Young children love to write and draw about their lives and they especially like to write in special blank books. I have seen tremendous improvement when children have the opportunity to write every day and are given positive feedback on their writing.
I would like the children to have blank books to use. The children will write and draw each day and have their work neatly assembled in one book. The children will be able to read and share their books with others and this will give them a sense of accomplishment. The children do not tend to look back on their work when it is on loose sheets of paper. Children really take pride in seeing their work in book form and they will treasure these books for years to come. Parents typically keep these books whereas they will discard sheets of paper. I am requesting art materials such as crayons, paint, foam sheets, and cloth shapes that will be used to illustrate our special books. I am also requesting 3D sculpture pieces to have the children make their own sculptures and to write a story to go along with it.
I would love to give the children the opportunities within my classroom to peek their curiosity about exploring the world around them.
Please make this magical journey possible. Pre-k children learn best through hands-on activities and need to use their imagination to create, develop abstract thought, and practice skills they are learning in class. Please consider funding us. I appreciate you taking the time to read this proposal. Thank You!
