Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My children are active and eager learners in a Transitional Kindergarten. Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two year Kindergarten program. My children are learning social skills as well as early academic skills such as letters, numbers and writing. We are learning about our community. We have opportunities to experience technology and STEM.
“What are we going to do, today?”
Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning abounds in our classroom. The children come from many backgrounds and cultures but in our class we come together as a family of learners to explore and learn.
My Project
Building Tiles and Gears are versatile tools for young learners to acquire many skills. My children love to build and create with their hands. In the process of what the children will perceive as play, the children will be actually learning. They will be learning colors, shapes, math, and science. They will develop fine motor skills. The children will learn to play cooperatively together.
Future builders and engineers are in the making.
The children have built zoos, farms, spaceship and even a dinosaur park without ever leaving the classroom. Having Building Tiles and Gears will add to the children’s imagination and learning.
