My students need paint brushes, art smocks, oil pastels, and books like "The Yellow Balloon" and "Beautiful Oops" to improve literacy and encourage self expression.
“Imagination and creativity can change the world.”

Imagine what wondrous changes await the world in the mind of a small child today... If we foster a student's creativity and imagination, tomorrow's possibilities are endless!
My students are a diverse group of sweet, spunky, curious and caring kiddos with a wide variety of needs.
Some come to me already knowing their ABC's and 1, 2, 3's, while others have absolutely no idea. Some have enormous family support, while others face challenges that are difficult to comprehend. No matter the challenge, they are a joy. I teach in a Title 1 school where we strive to provide a safe environment and opportunities that support a diversity of learners as they overcome obstacles and grow.
My Project
By exploring wordless picture books like "Tuesday" and "The Yellow Balloon" my students will be able to stretch their imaginations and build communication skills through storytelling. These and other books such as "Beautiful Oops" and "Mix It Up" will help to inspire creative expression through art with the use of paints, chalk, or oil pastels. These resources could quite possibly set my students on the path to becoming future writers and illustrators. Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by providing my students with a much-needed variety of books and art supplies.
These will help to encourage their creativity, imaginations, and self-expression through engaging art and writing projects.
