Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Fundraising allows children to feel a sense of pride in ownership of themselves. It empowers children by giving them the ability to control their own destinies, in a sense.

After all the obstacles and impact of Covid students have endured during these unprecedented times, a fun activity that will reward all of their hard work is in order.

The pandemic is still affecting the daily lives of many of my students because they have lost important people. My students will benefit from the experience and pride of raising funds for this unforgettable experience. This activity will make my students feel as if they are more in control of their lives.

Making personalized mugs as a fundraiser gives my students the opportunity to raise money for a field trip and ownership of their accomplishments. It will enable students to work with money and "customers". Learning to work with others and stepping out of the box will not only be a lesson in finance but in social and emotional health.
