This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Now that our Band program is starting to grow, I trying to find the best trainers to develop our program to the next level of perfection. Our program is a small but hungry group of students; we study lots of film of top groups and they have a goal in mind of what they want for our program.
Half of the students in our program are low income students and homeless.
Our students have a family vibe.
My Project
Our students all love making music at school, but some are unable to make music where they live. Whether because of the instruments being too large to transport from the school to their homes or their living locations not allowing them to practice loud instruments, our students find difficulty having the opportunity to play and practice music at their homes. With funding us to have new mouthpieces, we can give these students who are unable to play at home the opportunity they desire to make music in the comfort of their homes and to develop necessary skills for playing their favorite instruments.
