My Students
Dr. Seuss so wonderfully proclaimed, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go." My students are eager to learn how to read on their own! We can help by providing the resources they need to reach their goals.
My students are bright, motivated and one-of-a-kind individuals.
They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their special education teacher and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field.
Even though it has become extremely difficult and sometimes frustrating to educate without needed supplies, our students still come to school eager to learn. Our school rarely has extra funding for enriching material and if they do, the funds are used for older students. Many of my students' families will never have additional money to purchase educational materials; therefore, I hope to be able to provide a fun and interesting way of learning so my students can succeed in life.
My Project
I am asking for magnetic journals and student readers for a group of six struggling readers. The journals include magnetic letters that students use to form and tap a word out. These magnetic journals are for students that need a multi sensory input. Some of my students are readers and others are struggling to read. I have tried to create a variety of teaching tools to teach my struggling students to read; however after researching I have seen and read that these magnetic alphabet tiles have helped a multitude of students decode and encode. The students readers will help enhance these skills for the students to read words then phrases to eventually sentences!
All I want is for my students to have all the practical tools to continue learning to read.
By funding this project, you will be providing us with the tools we need to help our students become confident, fluent, and independent readers!
