Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students have recently immigrated to the United States. They are also all English language learners. Some have most of their family in their home countries and both work and go to school.

Hence, they do not have access to regular sources of food.

At our school, our students speak over 30 languages. They are really excited to learn English. and I know that if they have more access to food, they will be more likely to succeed in their future endeavors.

My Project

This fund will allow students to be able to have more access to food in and out of school. Without proper food, no true learning can occur on a hungry belly. This is really important to remember.

It's essential that every child has access to an education.

But without access to a regular food, it's challenging. My aim will certainly be to have the most ability to learn afterwards as well. I know that this DonorsChoose.org project will add more snacks and meals for my students, in the food pantry we've set up in the counseling office at my school.
