The students in our school arrive with a various degree of education and backgrounds. More than 90% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Many students come from other countries and enter the classroom for the first time. They have experienced trauma and stress on a regular basis.
I spend much of my own money making sure the kids have what they need to be successful.
The families have a challenging time providing their children with school supplies needed for the classroom. The children come to school, everyday, excited to learn as much as they can. We expose the students to music through orchestra, band and general music, as a school focus. I am blessed to be able to teach in this wonderful school.
My Project
I am requesting some functional items for the classroom to make learning fun. Comfort and function can have a positive effect on learning, human productivity and creativity. Everyday I teach off an old rolling AV cart. The cart it too high and I am always looking for my materials to teach. The cart I am requesting is the perfect height and I can store all my teaching tools in one place. Happy teacher, happy students. I am also asking for two comfy chairs that can be moved around the room during independent reading and a wipe board for small group!!
