Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school, where 95% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. On top of our high poverty rate, 85% of our students are English Language Learners. My school is located in the heart of the neighborhood. We are known as a community school, because our doors are always open to our families. Most of our parents rely on us and their children to help them communicate, survive, and thrive.

I love having the opportunity to build relationships with my students and their families and watch them grow.

My Project

Many of us live in a world where we have access to constant and changing technology that is at the tip of our fingers. My students do not often have these opportunities or experiences unless I provide them myself. With these tablets, my students will be able to use digital technology to make learning fun! The Fire 7 tablets will allow my students to read and listen to books electronically and engage in a variety of educational online learning. The Fire 7 tablets have child-friendly educational software, teacher controls, and a protective case. All of these things will allow my students to explore education digitally.
