This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at my school have a special place in my heart! I just started my second year of teaching 4th grade at a charter school. I currently have 17 students in my class. Each and every one of the students at my school is unique in their own way. They are so creative and always eager to solve problems.
I love my small school because we are all one, big family!
Since there is only one class per grade, many of the students have been in classes together since kindergarten. Teachers and families work together to build a strong sense of community.
My Project
The materials I've requested will benefit my students in many ways. The science kits will support the state standards I teach and give my students the opportunity to learn by doing. Science is all about hands-on learning and doing fun experiments. These types of experiences are more meaningful than just listening to me talk.
Using the science kits will help bring learning to life for my students!
It is important to engage with the subject matter to help develop problem-solving skills and learn to create something. By using these items, students are more likely to retain information, develop critical thinking skills, and be more prepared for the real-world.
