My Students

My amazing classroom is home to an energetic, creative, and inquisitive group of first graders. They are hands-on learners who are full of questions and love to learn as a class, in small groups and discover on their own.

Our nonstop days are filled with dancing, reading, writing, predicting, singing, experimenting, counting, moving, exploring, laughing, sharing, playing, and growing together as a community of learners.

Each and every day is filled with new and exciting opportunities to build our learning community together.

My Project

First grade and reading go hand in hand. Phonics is a crucial aha connection between sound and letters that make words come alive on the page and open the door to reading. Introducing, modeling, connecting, and practicing phonics skills is a part of our daily routine in our reading block.

I am requesting engaging and meaningful ways for my students to learn how sounds and letters connect and relate makes learning exciting.

The tool kit and mirrors from Tools4Reading will make our phonics time an exciting time to learn together in an exciting hands-on style.
