Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach special education with awesome students in grades kindergarten through 4th. My students walk into their classroom ready to make learning fun. Everyday their creativity and peer collaboration amazes me!
My students are culturally diverse, are on varying learning levels, and live in a very high-poverty area.
I don't want to see any child struggle in school. I want to make sure that my students have every resource available to them to help them become successful. It is important to have fun, educational materials to keep students engaged.
My Project
The learning tools that my students are asking for will help so much! Every student learns individually. As a special educator I find different ways to teach my students. The phonics building blocks will help them be successful in phonemic awareness and decoding. The math cards will be a wonderful addition to their math center!
My students enjoy working with each other in their reading and math stations, and the items asked for will allow them to make progress as well as hone skills they have been learning.
The math manipulatives are a must for all classrooms. These help them grasp concepts as well as keep the students engaged. The students have asked me to ask for ink for their class printer. This way they can print projects, awards, coins in color, and book illustrations! The phonics materials already have a place saved for them in their reading nook! Thank you for considering our class project!
