This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Math is fun and I would like to pass this onto my students. I teach inner city special education students in the 6th, 7th & 8th grades.
I have sparked the interest of my students in math, and I do not have any math overhead manipulatives. Having a timer to count down any math topic will help keep them focused on the given task.
If I had a timer and math overheads I could show my students how to do the math with manipulatives. They would be able to see that the math is not that hard to comprehend and have fun trying it out.
You would make it possible for my special needs students to feel empowered by accomplishing math facts.
