Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are kind, loving, and very friendly. They enjoy learning and are very flexible. They are always willing to go the extra mile in class and out of class. My students work very hard to always do their best. They are very competitive in nature and always strive to succeed. They are determined and work hard to learn something new every day. It is a pleasure coming to work every morning to be greeted by these beautiful, happy smiles.
My Project
As part of our everyday math, we have students go to math centers to use hands-on activities. Since we use them daily, they get torn up.
The roll and stack and the stack and build will help the students practice math skills in math centers.
Some kids learn through the use of hands-on activities like with the giant activity dice, the students can practice addition and subtraction by having fun throwing the dice.
I would like to provide my students the opportunity of learning math in a way that is of interest to them. In that way, they will never forget the skills that were taught. It is very exciting to be able to provide my students with this opportunity.
