My Students

What does the word "Math" bring to mind? Excitement? Fun? Dread? Fear? I want my students to be excited and confident when they think about doing math! I want them to be able to use fun games to reinforce important skills!

I teach a very diverse group of 5th grade students.

I have students from different backgrounds, different family structures, different religions, and different abilities. Some of the students in my class come from homes where English is not the first language and some have autism. Despite their differences, they all have certain skills they need to learn in math.

My Project

This complete set of Math File Folder Games will give my students the chance to practice math skills and have fun while doing it! It is important to me to adjust my teaching and the activities I give to kids based on their needs. By having games ranging in skill from 4th to 5th grade, I can help student that struggle and students who are on grade level get the practice they need. These games will be used in both small group teaching time and during independent work time. I have made a recent switch in grade levels from third to 5th, and need more great materials for these 5th graders.

This proposal will provide a fun way for the kids to get better at math and build their confidence.

It will provide an exciting way for students to practice the math skills they need. Thank you for supporting my students.
