Help me give my students materials that will assist them with math fluency skills to make them independent learners.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students attend a low-income/high poverty school. This can make getting materials we need a challenge. I am looking for materials that can prepare them for skills needed to be successful in life.
My students view the world differently.
I teach a preschool class with students who are autistic. They are between the ages of 3-5 years old. The students are beginning to understand the world around them.
My students are showing an interest in math skills. The majority of my students are non-verbal and require hands on materials to learn and to demonstrate an understanding of math skills. By building these skills, my students will be prepared for kindergarten and possibly working above grade level. The VersaTiles Math kit would give my students the materials needed to meet their math fluency goals.
The VersaTiles Math Kit will help my students gain a better understanding of math fluency skills such as number sense, number recognition, counting, etc. These skills are not only important in the classroom but in life. Counting and recognizing numbers is a life skill that we all need in order to complete every day tasks. I would like to build the foundation for my students to be independent adults one day so they can possess skills such as money management.
This will prepare my students for the real world and make them independent.
I would like to see my students grow up and be able to manage their own money and live as independent adults. Having a good understanding of number sense is the first step towards this goal.
