This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a wonderful group of preschool students from the ages of 3-5 through head start who are either low income or at risk. All of my students are so excited about school and love to learn. We have a great reading area but are in need of comfy seating for them to sit and read comfortably. We are also looking to help them get some letter and sound recognition activities as well.
We help our families create school readiness goals and work with them to achieve these goals.
Being able to read in a comfortable environment will help children tremendously. It is important to promote language and literacy. We are trying to engage the children with a variety of learning activities to help them their letters and sounds.
My Project
Providing my students with a variety of letter learning activities will help promote letter recognition. The children will get to explore many different sensory and fine motor activities to achieve this goal.
The children love exploring the sand and water table and they will be thrilled to have the floating letter balls and the sand sea shells to engage with while exploring in these areas.
I also chose the letter locks and alpha bots to make letter recognition fun for them but also help promote fine motor skills.
If you an help we would be so grateful for your contribution to help aide the students in my class.
