Fun With Fractions

Help me give my students fraction circles and games to learn about fractions in a hands on way!

My Project

My students are eager to learn third graders who need manipulatives to understand and create their own fractions.

Hands on materials will engage students and help them master learning fractions because they are able to create and visually see how fractions are equally divided.

Materials like the fractions circles and fraction magnets will allow students to visually see what 1/4 vs 1/8 look like. They will also be able to create visual representations of 2/3 and 3/6 to understand that those are equivalent.

This is a huge skill to master in third grade, if they feel comfortable with the foundation of fraction when they enter 4th and 5th grade they will be prepared for the extension of fractions.
