My students need Dash and Dot to introduce them (and their teacher) to the wonderful world of coding.
This project expired on February 14, 2016.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
When I began my teaching career 39 years ago, I never imagined using robots with my kindergarten students. Robots were only in cartoons, science fiction movies and dreams. You can make a dream come true for me and my students.
I teach the 24 brightest, sweetest kindergarten students on this planet.
Our school is located in rural South Carolina. We may not have some of the high tech items that schools in larger districts have but I will match my students' drive against all others. Our school is a Title I school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Through Dash and Dot my students will learn the powerful skill of coding. They will have access to the robots during our center time, which is when we build our language and social skills. Students will be able to program the robots to move objects, follow a set path, or play a song.
Giving my students the ability to use Dash and Dot in kindergarten will prepare them for future careers, help them work with others, and feel excited about the world of technology.
Many of the students in my class may otherwise never have access to this type of technology.
They just may decide that this is a career and future that they are interested in. Please help inspire the students in my class by donating to our dream of having our own Dash and Dot!
