Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a PE teacher and I also coach soccer and assist with the conditioning program.
That's many hats!
The soccer teams consist of 75 boys and girls players in junior varsity and varsity. Both boys and girls are regular finalists in state playoffs.
Of course, these athletes and all the other athletes participate in a conditioning program during the school day and after school, both in and out of season to help with fitness. It is a matter of health safety and it impacts their success in their sport.
My Project
My students are enjoying soccer practice even more than usual given social isolation requirements.
As we play outside and minimize contact, it's a great time to practice skills.
The soccer rebounder that I am dreaming of is ideal for players’ skill development with ball touch, control, and passing. We can the front side of the rebounder for practicing head, chest, and thigh ball control, or the backside for smooth push pass and return drills.
The two sets of passing gates will develop my player's accuracy and ball control. The bright targets will be useful and fun to integrate into soccer practice warm-up drills to improve players’ agility, footwork, and dribbling technique.
