My Students

Our district is one of the most diverse in the nation. Our students come from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, speak multiple languages, and perform on a wide range of academic abilities. It is amazing to educate children who are so different from one another. They have some of the most fun and vibrant personalities, and I am excited every day I am able to work with them. I have never met more hardworking students!

With all of the demands we put on our young students, they deserve a chance to learn through hands-on activities, in a fun and engaging environment.

We try our best as a school and community to present our students with creative ways to express their knowledge. I am so excited to bring new opportunities to my students. I can't wait to inspire them to become more motivated learners and kinder citizens.

My Project

Our students are working with a new math curriculum for the very first year. Workbooks and teacher guides were purchased, but unfortunately the hands on materials were not. This left teachers to either purchase the materials on their own, or students just asked to do without. This has not been working for our kindergarten and first grade students so far this year, and I would like to find a way to help fill learning gaps instead of creating new ones.

Our youngest learners need concrete and hands on materials they can see and touch.

My first graders work daily with fact families (number bonds), and the book and magnetic number bond will help them understand these concepts. Both the kindergarten and first graders in my combination class need puzzles, projects, and worksheets to help solidify and further explain all of the concepts they are learning. The TPT gift card is a great way for us to support other teachers and get the exact things we need for our students. They are some of the most hard working and amazing students and they all deserve a chance to succeed in school.
