This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love that my students have their own individual personalities. They strive to be the best that they can be. They are a group of six special education students who love coming to school despite the challenges they face, I love that are helpful to one another to help keep a smile on their classmate's face. My students all have the ability to learn but they tend to do better with hands-on manipulatives. When my students earn incentives for working hard and/or earning good behavior in class I love rewarding them with items from our class treasure chest.
My Project
We are working on mastering basic math skills like adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division. The students need a way to learn these skills in a fun way. I would also like for my students to learn more about their feelings so that they can express them in an appropriate manner. The students need engaging activities to help them stay focused...due to their disabilities, the students can struggle with learning skills the traditional way. I would like to spunk up our learning a little all while learning at the same time.
