This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, resourceful, and resilient! Our school is a Title I school where 100% of students qualify for free lunch. We have a very diverse school population with many of my students being recent immigrants and English language learners. As kindergarten is often the first school experience for many of them, they have a wide range of abilities, goals, and interests. However, they are all very eager and willing to learn and try new things. Their smiling faces, energy, and happy spirits make every day a great and fun adventure.
My Project
These materials will really help my students. We currently have tablets but I have to limit their use due to them not having a protective case on them. The cases will allow students to use the tablets more freely such as on the floor with our pillows which they really enjoy doing. The Play-Doh set will allow them to practice their letters in a fun and hands-on way (which is what they like best!) The lanyards will be used as hall passes so my students can wear them around their necks so they stay clean and are harder to lose. All of these materials will be greatly appreciated by me and my students.
