My students are a diverse group of learners. A large percentage of my students are first or second-generation US citizens. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, with some having far more needs than others.
My students are passionate learners who invest in themselves daily through hard work.
I want to work towards creating a school more deserving of my students by providing them with the resources they deserve to enhance their learning environment and to help them reach their potential.
My Project
We have a patio outside our lunchroom that we recently began using for the first time in our history due to the generous donation of 8 outdoor tables. Our kids are eager to sit outside and use these tables; sadly, in a school of nearly 750 but only eight tables, we can only accommodate so many.
The demand by students for outdoor seating is tremendous.
We now also have teachers using the area to hold special class sessions, clubs, and events, but they too are limited. If we can get more tables, we can positively impact the experience of children and adults at our school by being more inclusive.
