Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
PSE is a Title I school wherein 75% of our school's population is on free or reduced-price lunch. I am handling two classes, an ESL and bilingual class with heterogeneous groupings. My students have different learning styles, came from varying backgrounds, and low-income families.
They are hardworking and awesome kids who are always excited to learn new things.
They love to explore, be challenged, and play learning games to master concepts. These students are always active and full of energy. As a teacher, I need to continue to find ways that I can challenge them.
My Project
Recess is an important part of a student's daily activities at school. It serves as a break from academic challenges in the classroom. It is a time to rest, play, imagine, think, and move. It also helps students to develop social skills.
Recess is beneficial because it can help students become more attentive and productive in the classroom.
Recess is more meaningful when students are able to do something other than running around on the playground. As a teacher, I need to make sure that students will be able to get the break that they need. I also have to make sure that they are safe while at recess. To be able to do this, a structured recess is important.
I want to provide my students with different options by having the necessary equipment for various activities. Introducing and exposing my students to different kinds of sports is important. Badminton and volleyball are two of the activities that my students will enjoy. This will give them preliminary skills they will need to be successful in this field of sports. In addition to this equipment, a storage bin will also be needed so I can put everything away neatly.
Please support my students by providing the needed volleyball/badminton set, balls, hula hoops, jump rope, giant tumbling timbers, and other games to build healthy minds and healthy bodies.
