Welcome to my 4th grade class. It is a classroom made up of twenty-nine, high energy 4th grader students. For some of my students, school is the safest and most consistent thing in their lives. For others, it is just part of their every day routine. These kiddos make up a very diverse and unique class. I have athletes, artists, scholars, musicians, and teachers. My class includes English Language Learners, where six different languages can be spoke other than English in my room. In my classroom, my students work together to create a positive and safe learning environment for one another.
Monday to Friday, my students are doing most of their learning with a worksheet and a pencil. Paper and pencil is becoming a teaching method from the past, but with a lack of other resources to teach with that is how things have to be taught.
By Friday, the students have had enough of the paper and pencil learning and want more engaging materials to learn with.
The materials in this project would allow students to learn materials in game form rather than the paper and pencil method. The games would reinforce material that is taught Monday to Thursday in class. These games would also allow for students to work on their team building, social, and problem solving skills as well.
