This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is made up of students who all receive 100% breakfast and lunch. The students come to school with limited resources but with an abundance of eagerness to learn. I want to provide them with an atmosphere of hope, acceptance, and love despite their socioeconomic status. I want my students to be able to focus on learning without the worry about supplies. My students are eager, determined, and anxious when it comes to learning. As their teacher, it is my duty to create a positive environment where each child has the opportunity to excel.
"I solved the problem this way!" "I solved it another way!" "I used a different strategy!" Those are the words echoed through my students as they learn to think critically.
I want them to be able to use those skills now will help carry them into adulthood as they journey through different problems in life. I am striving to teach my students to be lifelong learners. If I can help my children change from having no dreams to becoming full of dreams, my job is complete!
My Project
My school is a PBIS school that focuses on positive rewards by using Class Dojo. Students are given a goal for the week for Class Dojo. Those students who obtain their goals will be allowed to participate in their teachers FUN FRIDAY ACTIVITIES. These games will be used for those FUN FRIDAYS game days. Students will work diligently to reach earn their DOJO points by completing homework, class assignments, participating, following IB Traits, following rules and procedures, and other descriptions set by the teacher. Giving the students an incentive to complete their goals will definitely help imporve their learning and their school lives.
