I love my Marvelous Math students! Since it's their 1st year in middle school, they arrive excited and anxious at the same time. Often times, they come from elementary school struggling in Math, or not truly understanding mathematical skills and concepts. During their 6th grade year, it is so important that they realize their potential in Math and truly feel they can succeed and enjoy Math!

After 29 years of teaching, I still absolutely love what I do every day! I have a passion for teaching and love being able to share my love of learning with my students! My students represent diversity, ethnically and economically. The age range of my students is typically 11-12 years old.

My Project
Everyday my 6th grade Math students have a Math class period in the morning, and a Math LAB class period in the afternoon. Math LAB is where we apply what they learned in Math class. We do Stations, Group Activities, Math Games, Partner Activities, use Manipulatives, and have FUN learning Math.
My students LOVE to sit in the floor, but need comfortable cushions to sit on.
Math is stressful enough. Flexible seating can help alleviate the anxiety that some students experience in Math. Flexible seating provides choices for students, which in turn motivates them to give their best effort at school.
