Help me give my students fun seating options by providing them flexible seating such as Bouncy ball chairs, wobble chairs, beanbags, floor seats and lap desks within our classroom!
My students are loving and caring little people that are excited to learn. They range in age from 5-6 and are full of energy. Most of my students come from low to extremely low income homes. My kindergarten students are always craving love and acceptance.
Many of my students had never sat at a table before entering Kindergarten.
So during the first few months of school, they had to make some huge adjustments. They have all adapted fairly well to our classroom environment, but sometimes I feel that they have caged up all their energy by sitting in one spot. They are so young and their little minds are growing so fast! I want to make sure I meet their educational needs, as well as their social, emotional and developmental needs.
My Project
As we all know it is hard for kids to sit in one place for very long and as of now my classroom has two seating options during different learning times which are carpet and tables.
I would like to be able to provide my students more seating options to help them feel comfortable and confident while learning.
Each of my students has different learning styles and the following flexible seating options will give them a chance to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them.
Bouncy ball chairs, wobble chairs, beanbags, and floor seats, paired with a variety of portable desktops, will allow my student a chance to discover what their body need to work at its best.
