This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a quaint little school in a neighborhood that feels like a small town in a big city.
At our school, classes are small and everyone is treated like family.
The majority of students come from low-income households and have limited resources, yet we have an extremely active PTA. We take great pride in the level of parental involvement at our school. My students are bright and engaged. They have a love of school and have a love of learning.
My Project
I would like our students to be able to listen to books without disrupting others during center time.
My class is in need of wireless headphones for our listening station, so that more students are able to access to read-alouds.
I am requesting a variety of games and resources to help students develop their phonemic awareness and phonics skills. These games include rhyming activities and word building.
I have also included a few math games to assist with number recognition.
My students are able to use the resources in our classroom independently. I would like to be able to support their learning with fun activities.
