Our school has a student population that is 86% free and reduced lunches. The class I will be teaching is 3rd and 4th graders that are gifted. My classroom is self-contained gifted. I am looking to challenge them throughout the school year with flexible groups where they will grow in their learning endeavors.
These amazing students are reading books from almost all genres and are reading books that are the least year above their grade level.
They will be working on Math problem-solving techniques and working collaboratively with other classmates.
This flexible focused and fun seating will give the students a chance to make choices about their learning that they are most comfortable with while reading or calculating. My students will have the flexibility to select any location in the classroom, like under tables, in a corner, or at their desk. Other choices that will be available for the students are using clipboards, working or reading with other classmates, etc.
I have selected a variety of seats/chairs that will be instrumental in making a more effective learning environment.
All of these chairs are light and easily maneuverable for the students.
