Help me give my students an opportunity to learn letters, letter sounds, and letter formation using eye-catching and sensory flashcards. These flashcards make remote learning more interesting; they will also make face-to-face learning a kinetic and sensory experience.

Most of our students come from financially challenged homes. (We are a title 1 school. We are a universal free breakfast and free lunch district. Most students are from low - S.E.S. homes.) We have 800 students in our elementary school building; our population is diverse. (Avg. 45% African-American, 25% Hispanic, 20% White, 10% Multi-Racial.) Our district has been described as, "small town," because it is composed of two small towns; it has also been described as, "facing big city problems," because we live on the edge of our state capitol. Sometimes our students struggle, but they never give up. Our families believe in hard work, have faith in education, and hope for tomorrow; we are an American School.
When our kindergarten students learn something new, their eyes open wide with surprise, or glee, or pride.
Kindergartners have a genuine thirst for knowledge. Once they learn something new, they are like elephants, they never forget. Our kindergarten students are blessed with a contagious hope; the future can be seen through their eyes and will be built by their hands.
The foundation of reading skills are built in kindergarten; letter names, letter sounds, and letter formations are the core academic kindergarten skills. Building these skills is not always easy or fun for students. Using fun and creative, "flashcards," can make the process of learning less pedantic and more enjoyable. "Letter flashcards," do NOT have to be dull, boring, paper cards; with a little imagination, anything with letters can be a flashcard. Imaginative flashcards like the alphabet pebbles, the mirrored letters, the wooden alphabet tracing tiles, and the alphabet crabs will make learning less monotonous and more engaging. Childhood should be a journey rich in experiences; however, in today's modern world it is a race to see who can learn the most, the fastest. The alphabet pebbles, mirrored letters, wooden alphabet tracing tiles, and alphabet crabs will enrich children's experiences with flashcards while improving the speed and accuracy with which they learn the letter names, letter sounds, and letter formations.
When rote learning has elements of play, students are more receptive to learning process, are engaged learners, and learn more quickly.
The variety of flashcards will be utilized by all one hundred students in the five kindergarten classrooms. The flashcards will be utilized by our teachers and paraprofessionals, in face-to-face settings with individuals or in small group settings. The flashcards are perfect to use with remote learners because they are eye-catching and unusual; they are perfect to use in small group Zoom Session. The flashcards are perfect for today's face to face learners, during the, "pandemic," because they are tactile and easily washable. The flashcards will be perfect when, "the pandemic," is in the world's rear view mirror because the flashcards are not flimsy cardstock; the flashcards have endurance and will be used for many years to come.
