Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in Irving ISD and I have a wonderful group of students. They are super sweet kiddos that love learning. They were all so excited to start first grade. Science, math, and technology sparks their imagination and the discussion that we are able to have is inspiring. My students are quick to grasp technology and are eager to try new things. I am thrilled to come in to school each day to teach these little ones. I would love to make sure I can get whatever I can for my classroom to make their learning as memorable as possible.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will be used in centers for students to be in charge of their own learning by exploring the concepts and practicing on their own. While students are engaged with these centers I will be working with small groups to help them with skills they may be struggling with. I’m planning on creating math and literacy centers. Centers will be used on a daily basis. In my experience as a first grade teacher, centers in not only an effective way for students to learn but is one of their favorite activities to participate in for the day!
